So a few days ago we got three new chicks from Ideal poultry. They all arrived healthy and alive, which was great because it was our first time ordering from them. The mail man did drop them off on our front porch thought, which was quite a surprise as we had to rush home to get them out of the cold. We ordered 3 pullets; one naked neck, one blue Cochin, and one blue laced red Wyandotte. They are all super friendly and come running up to our hands in the brooder. Almost a little too friendly because even though it’s only been two days they cheep super loud anytime we leave the room.
Anyways, here are the newest additions to our flock!!
Frazzle-dazzle is the naked neck. She is so cuddly and snuggles in my hair. She is the biggest and can be described as “a little yellow circle” and I’m pretty sure she’s secretly a cat. She chases our fingers and anything that moves. Besides, how cute is her little neck?!
Mochi is the little blue Cochin. We don’t know whether she is going to be blue, splash, or black yet (due to the fascinating genetics of blue chickens) but she’s adorable. She is super cuddly and falls asleep in seconds. We think she looks like a little penguin.
Last but definitely not least is Lacey Rose, the blue laced red Wyandotte. She is surely the spunkiest, as she runs laps around the brooder and tries to eat my freckles, but once you pick her up she melts in your hands. She’s also the smallest, but her little wing feathers are already coming in!!
