I got a noisy box this morning!

12 handfuls of of concentrated cuteness.

The whole "nothing but water for an hour" thing is no good when they start eating the bugs that died under the lamp last night as soon as they moved from the water toward the heat.

They've been out of the box for half an hour and they're zipping all around the brooder.

There are 3 each of:

Black Langshans
Dominiques (My husband wanted to have some barred birds and I chose these over Barred Rocks because he works at a Revolutionary War historic site).
French Cuckoo Marans
Silver-Laced Cochins (My 15yo son's choice).

I want to add a cochin, but want sure how they'd deal with the heat. They are so fluffy

It's an experiment. The Brahmas do surprisingly well in heat and Cochins have bigger combs.
