I forgot if cedar bedding was a no no or not. I am using the Tractor Supply bedding but they were out of it and they had a cedar bedded that showed a guinea pig and rabbit on the bag.

NO!!!!!! DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER

It's toxic to them.

Thank You...thats what i thought, i just couldnt remember for sure. I will have to wait on the other shaving to come in.

No, no, no!

The aromatic oils in the cedar are way to strong and will cause respiratory issues resulting in death. NO cedar shavings!

All of my feed stores around here sell the pine shavings in big bulk bags for like $5. They are much safer to use, along with being much less expensive.

Cedar is bad for all small pets. Guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, hamsters, mice, etc... It's to strong for their respiratory systems.

I think that another moderator here on BYC does that too and hasn't had any issues with it. Just be careful that it isn't to much. Birds respiratory systems can't handle strong odors very well.

I wish they would post that on the bags of shavings. So many people go to Tractor supply store and see those baby chicks and decided to get some, not knowing cedar shavings can kill them.
The shavings are 50 foot from the chick bins.
