Okay the ones i am getting will be 17 weeks old we have cats and racoons so i am wondering if they will be the problem but i have a coop that i will shut them up in every night will it work?

Have Fun Herding Them In Every Night!!! Bobs Arent Always The Most Cooperative Lil Things...

If It Was My Pen I'd Get Some Metal Roofing Sheets And Place Them On The Bottom Edges Of Your Fence--- Set 1 Edge On The Ground And Lean Them Up On Your Fence, Then Just Screw Them To Your Fence Posts--- This Will Buy You A 2+ft High Solid Barrier That Will Help Prevent Coons And Cats From Reaching In And Swiping At Your Stock! Line The Entire Outside Of Your Pen Like Described As Above. Heck Look Around And You May Be Able To Find Some Old Roofing Panels Cheap( Newspaper, Craigslist, Etc...) Sections Of An Old Garage Door Will Work Too.

One thing bad with plain old galvanized chicken wire is it can shave the skin off the bobs heads if they are flushed into it, Ive seen this happen on more than one occasion and had to put birds down because of it, if they hit it just right its pretty bad damage they receive..

id recommend buying PVC coated wire, no cutting affect on birds heads, matter of fact hadn't had a bird get injured with using it..
