I like to scramble cracked eggs in the microwave for my dogs, Is it ok to crunch up the shells and give them to them as well? It seems to me the extra calcium would be good for them, and I would think if I crunched them up to where all of the pieces are small enought they woul dnot cut the dogs or anything.

Both of my big dogs get a whole egg every day - I have so many extras that I just hand them both an egg and they walk off and eat them shell and all. My beagle won't eat them at all. Never developed a taste for them I guess.

I sure hope it's ok. My dogs are like goats and get into everything, including my compost pile. My female chessie sure loves those eggshells...

My bullmastiff puppies favorite treat are her 2 whole quail eggs she gets every day. I just hand them to her whole and she crunches them up. The vet commented at both of her last 2 visits at how nice her coat looks.

I'm going to go against the grain here, and say it would be better not to. It may be fine for some dogs, but dogs with more sensitive digestive tracts may have some issues. What is a delicacy to one dog can send the next one to the er. Just my .02

I agree. Your dog may never attempt it, but I just don't want mine to get the taste for eggs.
