Is my betta sick?

My betta was all blue and deep red but now he is losing his color. Is he sick?? I’ve had him for about a year

How big is his tank? Does he have a filter? Despite popular belief, he is a tropical fish and NEEDS a heater.

No he does not have a heater I believe it’s a 15-20 gallon and yes it has a filter

That’s a 5 gallon. Try cleaning his tank out and replacing .5 the water with fish safe water and clean the decor. Def get a heater.

Contrary to popular belief, bettas need a filter, heater and regular water changes just like any other tropical fish.

Hope your guy pulls through! He looks pretty rough.

Also, i don’t know if you haven’t been doing this already but when you change the water you need to add a water conditioner to it to detoxify it. I used Prime when I had a betta.
