...like crackers, popcorn, tortilla chips? I'm slowly learning what my pullets will eat and what they ignore (they love strawberries and grapes but hate corn and apples).

Any wisdom on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

i feed mine fried foods, salty foods, just anything we eat, they seem to lay more eggs when they are fed human food as a treat, i wouldn't doubt they have clogged arteries!

Yes, you can give that stuff, but only small amounts at a time. Moderation is key, like with us humans

As long as salty and fatty foods are a very occasional, small treat, then it's ok. Tomorrow mine are getting the microwave popcorn we didn't finish off tonight.

I do have a tiny pullet that is a junk food lover. But I've actually read that salt is toxic in large enough quantities, so I try not to let her eat too much of that kind of stuff. Especially since she's so small.

I do give them chip crumbs from the bottom of the bag once in a while, but it's just a bit and 15 chickens fighting for them. Other than chips and popcorn we rarely eat super-salty treats.
I only feed them super-salty leftovers in small quantities.

Eek... well good to know... we were munching on saltines in the yard today and the chickens were going so crazy over the crumbs that I think we got a little carried away with the crumbs...

I use my chickens as waste-reducers. I take the stale taco chips and crush them up to little pieces. I wouldnt feed them that as the staple but I use it more like scratch-a little thrown out to them now and again. They are great at getting rid of the dregs of food my family forgot about like chips, crackers and cereal. Never give them too much at a time.
