This chick is about a week old and from what I can tell looks to be a Brown Leghorn. He/she is a bantam and is very active!

I Looked them up. They are beautiful! Says they make great pets as well. Is this true? This will be the only bantam in out flock of 7.

OEGBs are awesome pets in my opinion. Very opinionated little chickens that will rule the roost. I have Dun Old english game bantams and the hens are by far my favorit since nothing phases them and they have to be involved in everything!!! Also run constant commentary lol
Roosters can be a bit feisty with people, depends on the roo tho, had plenty that were wonderful but some do have the "napoleon complex".

These are both from the June 3 hatch at Meyer. They are an incubator assortment, so they can be anything, really. I have several birds at each size - The back bird looks like a standard Brown Leghorn, the rooster in the front appears to be a Bantam Brown Leghorn, but Meyer doesn't commercially carry Bantam Leghorns, only Welsummers. I don't know the difference between the two breeds. Could the rooster be a bantam Welsummer? Thoughts? I also have a few smaller hens as well, they look like a mini version of this hen.
