Not sure if skunk or other animal. Here is an Idea for the Sherlock Holmes type..
Clear out the ground in front and place a layer of fine sand, well groomed. Next day compare the footprints to known animals , like skunk, or opossum.

Too small for a skunk.

Good examples of anti-dig apron installation, tho I'd not recommend 1/2" HC (unless you have small rodents like rats)...go with 14ga 1x2 or 1x1, will hold up much longer and is easier to lay flat.

..you really should not leave egg in the coop overnight.

I don't want to but for know Intel I get it to where it's not coming back I don't want to take all of the eggs becuz I don't want it eating my chickens next if it can't find eggs

Your best bet is to varmint proof the run/coop. The apron doesn't need to be dug into the ground. Extend it 12" or so along the ground outside the run. Use landscape fabric pegs or similar to keep it tight to the ground. The grass will grow up through it, and you won't know it's there.

These work well for securing the apron to the ground.
