Is this chickweed?

I keep seeing a weed pop up around my parents’ house and my mum wants it gone. I think it’s chickweed, but I’m new at identifying weeds that are edible (I just moved here last year) to feed my chickens. Could someone look at this picture and tell me if it’s chickweed, and whether or not I can gift it to my boys and girls (and make my mum happy)?

Awesome! We, unfortunately, can’t free-range because of wildlife threats, but I made a massive coop/run (coop is 8’x5’, run is 24’x24’) for my 11 babies (not actually babies, but ya know) and just planted them a garden, too! I wanted to make sure this weed was safe before I added it to their garden.

Lucky! I don't have any chickweed at my house so I actually bought seeds this year, they really do love it.

Yes, for sure double check sources. Apps make errors and for an example, even after twice from identifying a plant, it ended up being a SERIOUSLY toxic plant, though some apps said it was safe to eat. You can hurt yourself!

Lucky! I don't have any chickweed at my house so I actually bought seeds this year, they really do love it.

I’m actually letting a bunch of it go to seed now so I can harvest for next year. I have this idea of growing a weed garden for my chickens next year. I don’t have the space mapped out to do it this year (there’s currently potatoes and pumpkin where I would grow it), but next year for sure!
