Hello. My husband and I were talking about getting chickens for over 7 years and finally we got chickens recently.

I’ve always had dogs in my life and I know what to look for when they are little off or having some heath issue but chickens? That’s a whole new game to me. Raising dogs are far more easier than raising chickens in my opinion.

I got 16 chicks from hatchery over 7 weeks ago and all of them survived so far. I have 6 black Australorp (1 male), 5 barred rock and 5 golden comet. We weren’t planning to get 16 but hatchery gave us 3 extra. They are eating mixture of Modesto Milling starter and Scratch and Peck starter. I’m fermenting Scratch and Peck feed and giving them twice a week.
Some chicks are sneezing but they all eating/drinking and acting normal.

This morning I saw one of my barred rock pooping slightly watery and milky poop. Since I don’t know anything about chickens’ poop, I need your help. Is this normal?

I would check to make sure she is eating enough. Young chicks can have a variety of poop but it does look a little watery.

Do you still have them on a little bit of heat? They should be feathered now.

Yesterday was close to 90F. This morning is lower 60s and high will be uper 70s. All of my chicks are feathered.
