I raised and handled all my hens and roos from hatch, and now when I walk up to them, they hunker down, wiggle their butts stick out their wigs and almost prep themselves to be picked up.. Is this normal behavior? They've done it for awhile but it's got me wondering, do anyone else's chickens do this?

How old are these birds?
How many males and females?

It's submission to a higher ranking flock member... and to be mated.
Surprised the males are dong that to you.

I believe the oldest roo is about 1 1/2 years, younger roo is 7 months, and the 6 hens vary.. 2 are 2 years, 1 is 1 year and the other 3 are also about 7 months..
I thought it was a little strange but maybe the younger roo could be because he hasn't quite had the chance to man up yet? No doubt on gender for him either lol
