I had a poultry hatch day and noticed his eyes were noticeably different from the others. At first I thought maybe I was overthinking things and maybe it was the lighting so I left him alone for a bit but lo and behold they are still the same. They’re this milky color.

Sorry the picture isn’t the best babies don’t like to be very still. Both of his eyes are like that but one is noticeably more cloudy than the other. Any idea what it is?

This is interesting, Does she act like she can see? As in can she go to the food or, move around without banging into thing?
I haven’t been home much today so I haven’t been able to pay a whole bunch of attention. When I do watch him he’s usually fast asleep or huddled with his siblings. I haven’t noticed him bumping into anything yet but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. If he still can get around fairly well is it possible he’s only partially blind?

I just tried a simple albeit not entirely foolproof test. I held my finger in front of his face and he didn’t seem to take an interest in it. The others all pecked and eyed it but he didn’t do anything to it

Hmm maybe so. It does look a bit cloudy, doesn't it? I do know my white jake has a bluish tint to his eyes, but they are clear and he has no trouble with his sight. You'll have to judge it by their behavior, I suppose.

Thought I’d give an update. So I’ve determined that he’s fully blind in one eye and partially blind in the other. He’s able to find food and water just fine and despite his disability he seems to be very dominant. Although when I let them out to run around he does get separated and can’t find his way back without some help

Thus is interesting @FathertoFeathers. I have a hen behaving differently the last few months and today my husband wondered if she is blind. She stays in the coop more, doesn't go too far when I let them out. I've put mealworms in front of her and she doesn't go for them. She can find food and water. She eats lettuce from a hanging caddy, so I'm guessing she has some sight. I need to look at her eyes carefully.
