IS UNCOOKED OATMEAL OK TO FEED THE HENS ONE TIME?

I have an established mealworm colony that I have maintained for years, and now that we have moved I have no suitable place to keep it. I would love to just set it down in my chicken yard and let the hens clean it out before I throw the substrate away. The problem is, I use old fashioned uncooked oatmeal as the substrate, and I just re-did the colony, so the oatmeal is fresh.
I know that the hens will eat the oatmeal as well as the mealworms and pupae. Will it hurt them?

No offense but chickens don't have ovens. In nature they'll eat any seed they come across.
Beans are a different matter but in nature, chickens wouldn't come across soybeans.
I think your chickens will love your treat and it will be good for them. Oats are one of the more nutritious grains and mealworms - wow, good protein.

Thanks...I thought I had read somewhere that uncooked oatmeal was not good for chickens, but it must have been something else. These precious babies need all the protein they can get in this heat! Thanks again.
