Ivermectin for rabbits?

Can you give ivermectin to rabbits? If so what is the dosage?

Ivomec ivermectin 1% .018 cc per lb of live weight

Ivomec, ivermectin 1% (the product sold for cattle and horses)
The tested dosage for rabbits is 0.018 cc per lb of live weight

10 lbs is .18 cc
5 lbs is .09 cc

Inject under the skin between the shoulder blades of the rabbit.

Some people report good results by giving the solution orally to
the rabbit, squirting into the mouth by syringe with no needle.
This has not been researched clinically.

Some people report good results by squirting into the ear (ear mites)
with no needle. This has not been researched clinically.

Some people report good results squirting on the skin (fur mites).
This has not been researched clinically.

Repeat in 10-14 days to get the mite eggs that hatch out. It would
be a good idea to treat all the rabbits in the herd at the same time.

You can also give ivermectin paste 1.87%, which they ingest and you don't have to inject them.

The paste is almost twice the strength, and there is no way to accurately measure it.

Buy the LIQUID so you can do it right.

It can also be mixed with their drinking water​

The liquid is def more accurate,oral or injected. With those that use the paste, the 1.87% is usually dosed at a tiny rice-grain size dot per 4-5 pounds. Either type can be unsafe and it's very easy to OD rabbits and some should never be dosed, so everybody really should do their own research on the risks for their specific rabbit or breed.

I bought a rabbit in seriously bad shape - I knew it and bought it anyway because it needed help.

It took three months to heal the sores on feet and tail with hydrocortisone and antibiotics. Fed it Critical Care for eight weeks. (An adult French Angora - was 3 pounds when I got it, now up to 6 pounds.) I have been trying to get rid of the mange with topical Ivermectin to no avail. I believe I need the injectable - the oral might be too much for Bramble's tummy.

Where can I buy it online? I can't find it locally and vets just aren't that much help with rabbits.

who ever sells for goats u can get it there but u really do not need a whole bottle just for a few times; get a vet to fill a syringe full for u and then draw up with an insulin syringe the amount u need in units (.oo)i think one and half UNITS (not ml, but mml)for a basic sized rabbit. ... when rabbits overdose (and its is difficult to overdose on ivermectin, always better to give more then less or it is not effective) some rabbits get very sleepy and wobbly but most come out of that after a day or so... we even did baby rabbits (oral dosages, u need more then for injected), and the larger does and bucks we did as the poster above mentioned.

u have to follow up after ten days and then ten days again; and u should know that some rabbits are permanently scabid. AND u will have to wash and clean every inch of wehrever the rabbit has been. AND the mites can move to u. they will stay with u for about a week or so , itch terribly, then die. no need for treatment. running a petting zoo, scabies is the bane and scourge of petting rabbits... we even used to flame torch their rabbit run, cement and stone. we treated all through the year. and it seems that really, some just are more prone then others, just like with poeple. i and my daughter were also prone to getting it from the rabbits..... i had even considered giving myself ivermectin (our vet says that in some third world countries it is used on poeple for certain parasites all though that is off label use.... i love ivermectin of every sort. its on my list of must haves along with baytril and oxytetra L 22 to keep in the animal drug box.

Hey! I know this thread is about 2 weeks old but I had question. How would you measure out .09 cc is a 3 cc syringe. It only gives me 1/5 of a CC measurements. :/
