Two bourbon reds, hatched mid April and were wondering if anyone can tell the sex yet. We think we have one of each. The one standing on the sand is one bird and two photos of the other bird on the grass which we think is a jake..Thanks!

When wanting your turkeys sexed from photos, provide a set of 3 photos for each bird.

1. A full front view.
2. A full side view.
3. A picture taken from behind and looking down that includes the back of the neck and top of the head.

All photos must be in focus. Out of focus pictures and pictures that have motion blur or camera shake have no value for sexing the birds in question.

If your birds are 3 1/2 months old, you should be able to easily sex them from their breast feathers.

Bourbon Red toms will have dark lower edges on their adult breast feathers.

Bourbon Red hens will have light colored lower edges on their adult breast feathers.

Both sexes will have light colored lower edges on their juvenile breast feathers.
