Juniper berries

I'm a newbie getting ready to build a coop, and the run area is likely to be under an enormous juniper tree.

With juniper berries everywhere, I thought I'd ask the experts...

Any concerns about chickens (layers) eating juniper berries - and probably a lot of them!

Not really sure about chickens.
But the gin they make from them sure affects us humans!

i dont know about chickens, but i have seen pheseant and grouse eat them allllllll the time when im up hunting or camping

Ours jump up and pluck em off the bush, but I see them spit them out most of the time. Maybe it's an aquired taste for those that decide to eat them?
