My wife and I decided to leave the hustle, bustle and crowds (or 'thickly settled' as we say in Rhode Island) of New England and bought 40 acres in southern Wyoming. We knew there was an existing chicken coop on the property and were looking forward to learning about raising chickens before buying some chicks. Well...the day we arrived in Wyoming, we stepped outside of our new house to a cacophony of a bunch of excited chickens rushing out of the coop into their run to greet us. Guess the previous owners opted not to take the chickens with them! The good news is the chickens are all super friendly, healthy and laying a ton of eggs! We've been trying to learn as much as possible, as fast as possible, which leads me here today, writing this.
Looking forward to learning and hopefully someday being able to teach some other surprised new land owner that unexpectedly found a herd of chickens on their land.
