Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve Safe for Roosters? Or Just a Marketing Ploy?

Hey Y'all! Hope you're having a great Monday.

I'm curious about Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve. I have a mixed flock of Hens, Roosters, and Ducks. I do an All Flock and was mixing in Henhouse Reserve. I also offer free choice oyster shell and grit on the side.

However, I paused this last shipment, because in a Facebook group dedicated to Poultry Medicine, the admins claimed that Kalmbach was not safe for roosters, despite the marketing on their websites.

I'm curious for those of you with Roosters, have you found any issues using Henhouse Reserve? My birds love it, but I don't want to have the calcium build up in my roosters if I can avoid it.

Thanks, y'all!

Not waving the flag for Henhouse Reserve, although I like their Chickhouse, but as it's a whole grain feed (with some pellets including the more trace nutrients), per their claim above the calcium sources are independent little chunks that the roosters can choose to ignore.

Don't know if this would hold true if you served it fermented or wet, which many people do partially in order to integrate the pellets better.

I don't ferment. I just mix one bag in with one bag of All Flock. I feed two scoops in the morning, then they all free range for the day. They get left over scraps from the day before. Then, they get a scoop of scratch and some grubs as a snack in the evening.
I haven’t had any problems with it and me too I have three roosters right now. I usually loose mine to predators not food..
Ugh predators are another matter. I have a hawk that's getting way too comfortable around my flock. Thanks for the info. I'm going to start mixing it back in. But I wanted to be sure there wasn't something I was missing.

"Independent sources of calcium " means that every ingredient is seperate, allowing birds to pick and choose what they eat, which is not necessarily a good thing. Safe yes, healthy ...eh.
Facebook chicken groups are not known for their accuracy, reason or or good information.
