My cat is smacking on the duck pellets (Kalmbach brand). Anyone know if this is a health concern? Or how I am get her to stop? She's gaining weight from it!
I don't know how much of a health concern it would be outside of the weight gain. Obviously If she's eating enough of it to gain weight she's eating way too much.
Personally, I would only feed the ducks as much as they can at a time. I would probably start by feeding them a couple of times a day and seeing how much they actually eat in a 15-minute period or so and then remove the food. Once you figure out approximately how much they eat just give that to them.
My next door neighbor has 3 duck's and they won't eat the duck food. They raid the dog food pan instead. Are your duck's by chance eating the kitty food?
I think there is something appealing about Kalmbach's poultry food for other species. My dogs would try to eat it too, but other brands of duck and chicken food they don't go near.
