I posted an update yesterday and did not receive any responses so I am going to try again: Good morning. Well I looked through the poops last night and did not see any worms. I am going to check again a while this morning. I work at home today. Since I gave the Ivermectin, should I give them all the praziquantel? When I got home last night no one new was sick. Tilly was up walking around and her eye did not appear as swollen. The other two hens were the same, eyes closed, lethargic and just "sleeping" on their perch. I did get a little fluid and antibiotic in them but not much. Thor was up, but was just standing in a corner. I scooped him up, he fought me a little, but tired easily. I took a warm damp washcloth and washed his face, head and chest off to clear away most of the mucus. This way, I can see if there is any new mucus today. I gave him some more antibiotics and he swallowed that down, then went to his water and took a few sips on his own. His poo is white and green, see pic, but his comb was turning a bluish color, also pictured. Besides worms, what do you all think they have? Anything else I can do or do I need to plan on culling them? Thor and Tilly are part of my original crew that I raised from babies. They are probably close to 4 years old. My heart hurts but I also do not believe in letting animals suffer if they are not going to get better. Last night Tilly and one of the other hens was up walking around. They drank a little and took a few bites of salmon cat food and scratch grains. The other hen was pretty much the same. Thor was lying on the ground completely out of it. I picked him up and held him and he came to and walked around and drank some water but was stumbling around and seemed out of it.

There is no need to start a new thread, but just post a comment and it will put your thread up at the top of the page. I think the problem is respiratory disease brought in by the newly acquired hens. What antibiotic from your dog have you been giving Thor? Tylosin is what I would give in case of respiratory disease. Dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days.

Your state has a good state lab to get a diagnosis with a necropsy if you lose your rooster or any more. You can call and ask about testing as well. If you are concerned about worms still, I would get some Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer or the SafeGuard horse paste. Valbazen dosage is 1/2 ml given orally and again in 10 days. SafeGuard dosage is 1/4 ml per pound given orally for 5 consecutive days. Worm eggs are usually not seen in poop. Praziquantel is only for tapeworms, and they are more rare. I don’t seen tapeworm segments in the poop.

Hey thanks. I posted a new comment yesterday and did not get any responses, so I started the new thread. I am just desperate at this point. All I had was amoxicillin for an antibiotic. This is my first round of illness in my flock and I have reached out in any and every avenue I can think of along with reading as much as possible. Unfortunately, nothing has fully fit the situation I have going on with different symptoms in different birds. I can't get any RX meds because there are no poultry vets around. I thought I had found a mobile vet but she is very expensive and booked out for a month. Two of my birds have made improvements but two have not. I have checked poo several times a day in the sick bay and the other run and have yet to see any more worms, I only saw the one several days ago and I do believe it was a round worm after looking at pictures online.
