Lash egg

My chicken laid a lash egg a few weeks ago and has been very lethargic since. She’s drinking but has lost lots of weight. Does anyone know if she’s likely to get over this and what caused it please. Thanks

Unfortunately, she's not going to 'get over it'.
Lash is a sign that she has a bad reproductive infection, it could be caused by age, breed, and compounded by diet.

Sorry your hen is unwell. Lash eggs are caused by salpingitis which is a very serious condition. Some birds hide it better and longer than others. I agree, it doesn't just go away.

This is my experience with one of my pullets. Pip (now a hen) is still with us, beating the average 6 month life expectancy.

To my knowledge, after this, she has laid one "normal" egg. Fine by me, she doesn't need to lay again to earn her keep.
