Lavender marans

Hello! I think it's common practice to breed lavenders back to black chickens and then breed the splits back to lavenders to improve feather quality. (If it's true lavender and you are wanting to preserve the lavender since blue/splash and lavender are different genes). I think it all depends on your breeding goals. I'm sure lavender blues (having both diluters in the same bird) will be very pretty and all the shades of (50 shades of grey?) would be very cool to see.

Congrats on a successful hatch! Very cute chicks! I hope we can hear how raising 100 FBCM (&1FLM) is going!

Thanks for joining and welcome to BackYard Chickens!
