Teen owner of three 2 month old chickens here. A few weeks ago, our four chickens were attacked by a hawk. One passed away, and another is injured. The injured one (Sesame, as named after my favorite dish sesame chicken haha) seems to have trouble standing on its own. At first, it stayed still in one place and did not budge. Later, it was able to prop itself up to a "kneeling position". Though she is far from healed, I do believe there is progress.
Seeing how she hasn't been able to lift herself up properly, we have picked her up by her belly, helping her to her water. She has also been able to eat food by moving her head.
Here is the problem though,
1. Before this incident, this chicken used to be the biggest compared to her peers. Now she is all skin and bones, nearly half the size of the other guys.
2. Since she's weaker than the other few, they will peck her. I'm not sure if she's in pain or anything, but I want to stop this before it gets dangerous.
3. She has been refusing to eat or drink. Every time we turn her to her feeding area, she just flops around to the other side.
4. She has made quite an effort to try to stand up now. She didn't really do that earlier, I hope this is improvement of some sort. However, always ends up falling on her face.
As of now, I'm really worried, hoping this injury won't turn into anything big. I truly hope she gets better soon.
Anyone have any ideas on this, please comment below!
Thank you.

When she was originally attacked, what did you do to examine her and clean her injuries?
If it was a cutaneous injury she shouldn't have walking issues. Did you examine her leg for bone breaks? Could a leg tendon have been severed?
Can you post a picture of her and upload a video of her trying to walk to YouTube or Vimeo and post the link here?
If the others are pecking her, she needs to be protected from them. She needs a decent sized predator proof area with her own food and water. I would add extra nutrition to her feed to give her a boost. Add Poultry Nutri-Drench per the label instructions for 3-5 days. Give her a small amount of tuna, sardines or other protein source each day. Make sure the footing she is on gives her good traction. I would keep her with the flock so she will not be alone but such that they can only see and hear each other but the others cannot touch her.
