Leghorn confusion

Hi I have a white leghorn who is just under a year old she is really confuses me in the sense she acts like she is broody puffing herself up when I pet her out of the nest box but I never see her in the nest box to do more than lay her egg.Does anyone know why she is doing this or had hens that has this behavior?

No she loves it she will climb in my lap

Sometimes they will act broody in the nest box but usually isn't the case.

Have you got a pic of this white leghorn that is a pet?

I have 1 leghorn who spends hours in the nesting box before she lays her egg, and she hoards the other eggs. Sometimes she’ll be in there on all the eggs including hers. She puffs up as well and will sort of growl/chitter at me. Usually once I take the eggs away she joins the rest of the flock. All that to say, you’re not alone.
