Leghorn

Our white leghorn has been acting strange the last several days. She’s been spending a lot of time in the nesting box, and has been really vocal when I check on her in there. I have still seen her out occasionally, and she seems fine then. Thoughts? Leghorns aren’t supposed to be broody, and that’d be my first idea.

Although white leghorns are generally a non broody breed, they sometimes do go broody.

Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?

If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.
