Does anybody have any Liege Fighter cross projects to share? Mine are about 4-5 months old at this point. The 1st 2 and last 2 pictures are the same bird. I thought it was funny that he had the red forehead like the full blooded red and black Lieges I have as a chick but got white eyebrows like the blue Lieges I had when they were chicks (5th picture) when feathers started coming in.

They are really pretty birds.

Thank you. It's just an experiment I'm playing with. I wanted to add barring to my Liege so crossed it with a Bielefelder. When they get old enough I think I'll cross that 1st one back to a Liege hen and see what i get lol

Any update on your liege crosses? Did you ever cross back to the liege hens? Curious, wanting to start some color projects with my liege this year.

That rooster looks awesome, how big is he? @Nashv755

I haven't measured him but he's a couple inches taller than my original Liege rooster but smaller frame and not as heavy. I kinda lost interest once I learned barring leads to yellow legs. So I'm sticking with the Liege/Pheonix cross. But he's still on the yard and wouldn't be surprised if some of the eggs I'm hatching now are his.

Here are a couple of the Pheonix crosses. They seem to be pacing with the pheonix pullets size so not sure if they will be any larger than a normal Phoenix but they are a noticeably heavier at the same 4mo age and size.

Hi, what is the cross you used with the LF? I have some LF x Bielefelders that are sharp looking but the barring is muted. I post some pictures of them ASAP.

The pictures are of a cross between a Liege Fighter hen (blue hen to left and rear of pullet) and a Bielefelder cock (Pictured just behind cockerel in foreground). The cockerels and pullet all have white legs. I am pleased with the results and hope to do more crosses. I may hatch out some this year if the hen gets broody. She is with a Bielefelder cock. I have some pure Liege Fighter eggs in the incubator.

I don't know if my crosses came from a liege hen or roo. But I do know both of my original lieges were burchen pattern or how ever you spell it. They look simular to the black based red neck pattern you see in most pictures of liege but burchen has some color bleed over on the chest. This is about the only decent picture I have that kinda show the breast pattern. But yea I've had some without barring including one that looks just like the hen in your 1st picture. Same base colors as a Bielefelder but no barring, smaller liege comb and wattles and aggressive eyebrows.
