Life span broad breasted bronze turkey

They were bred to be butchered young. If you want him as a pet then limiting food and plenty of exercise will continue to keep him alive, which seems to be something you’ve done well if he’s 2 years old.

Can he walk well with that much weight on him??

I've never heard of them surviving much past 2, and not with a good quality of life. Meat turkeys just aren't bred to live more than a few months, and will often die on their own of complications relating to their rapid and massive growth. If you've fallen in love with how friendly and beautiful turkeys can be, might I suggest that you consider getting heritage breed turkeys? They live long, healthy lifespans, they're very hardy, and they're every bit as sweet and personable as their meatier counterparts. They also come in a stunning variety of colors and patterns. As an added bonus, they can reproduce naturally.
