hey guys! I was convinced that I had a pullet but now I’m getting scared it’s a cockerel....opinions? It’s a 14 week old Light Brahma comb is pale unless it gets excited and then it darkens but goes back light after. That tail is worrying me

I’m pretty sure you’ve got a pullet! My Brahma hens have tails like that. Not to mention your girl’s feathers are too rounded to be a roo’s hackle or saddle feathers!

Here’s a photo of my light Brahma cockerel. He’s about 20 weeks now I think.
Thank goodness! Out of the 10 chickens I got this year, 5 turned out to be roosters! I kept 2, but didn’t want any more!

Hello,

Good evening! I see that you are fairly new...
So belated welcome to Backyard Chickens!

Most definitely a pretty little Pullet. She has not developed pointed hackle feathers of which prove she'd be a Cockerel... And her pea comb is definitely developing like a Brahma Pullet's comb should be. Brahma's are good birds and good layers, you have a good one on your hands. Good luck, God bless. Have a nice evening and a happy Holiday season.

Best regards,
-The Angry Hen
