I bred 2 SFH unrelated roosters over 13 Swedish Flower Hen hens; 4 were related. The rest were hatchery, so probably related. At 23 weeks, I'm very happy with the progression of all 26. I didn't do breeding pens, so I know there's only so specific I can get.
I was hoping to replace one of my roos with his offspring due to temperament. Is it better to keep my original, unrelated roos over this new generation or would I be OK with the new cockerels over their mothers, sisters, and half sisters for a generation or 2?
