In the Brooder
Hello everyone,
My name is Christine. We (my family) purchased our home about 7 years ago or so now. At the time I was interested in getting chickens, but my husband wasn't really on board. Lately he has been bringing up "if we had chickens" scenarios, so obviously I jumped all over that and started planning for our future chicken family. I found some coop plans I am interested in using to build a coop and run. We have a fences in yard, but I know it will need to be chicken proofed. We live in the suburbs I guess you could say of a city. Our local ordinance around chickens is somewhat strict and honestly some of their protocols seem a little silly, but we've already talked to one of our neighbors who just got baby chicks themselves so they are on board with us building and placing the coop towards our side of the yard where they abut. I love to do research, which I had done a lot of initially about 7 years ago but when my husband wasn't on board I just kind of stopped researching so I wouldn't get sad anymore about not being able to have them haha. So I am very happy to be here and start learning again so we can best prepare to bring some chickens home! I live in Southern Maine! Thanks for having me.
