LOOKING FOR Live Poultry Markets In Houston

Hi Friends,

I have recently moved to Houston from Athens, Pennsylvania and I am looking for a live poultry vendor.

Back in Pa. I was able to buy from a local poultry market that sold red pullets for retail. Are there any places like that in Houston? I ran into Tai Hung Farm Poultry over the internet, but have not stopped in yet.

Any recommendations will be much appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.

craigslist or just wait for a chicken swap to show up on the texas traders board. they had one in conroe a while back

I think there will be another swap in Conroe the 1st Sunday in October. Everybody brings chickens and other livestock to trade or sell. 'Swap' isn't quite an accurate term, but thats what it's called.

Hi John .. There are a couple of Texas threads .. one specifically for traders. You can find some decent info there ..

Also, as posted above, Conroe has a trade day a couple times a year .. and keep your eye out on craigslist.

Can anyone tell me exactly when and where there will be a chicken swap in Conroe? Where is this announced? I have 3 sweet roosters I need to get rid of and I need more hens (more eggs!).

The swap in Conroe is at the Lone Star Convention center on oct, 4th. There are a lot of people in Houston area selling live poultry just look on craigs list and there are some sites like rummagecleveland.com. I will have some Australorps, and some BCM available in a few weeks.
