I have three leghorn chickens that are looking a little rough lately
They are pretty big (fat) compared to an average bird of their breed. They have full roam in my backyard although they eat mostly layer pellets and stay in the same couple spots most of the day.One chicken has a balding spot on her neck. All three have feather lose in their tale feathers. The feathers aren’t failing out right away- more like deteriorating. They also seem to preen themselves way too much. I’m thinking this could be out ofboredom
I treated them with dust medicine for mites although I’ve never seen any mites on them. I have treated them for legmights as well by applying Vaseline. Their feet are looking much better although some of their scales are growing back still.
Another issue I have with them is bullying. The alpha chicken will bully the other two.
Please let me know what you think could be the issue. I appreciate all the help!
