Does anyone know if lychee berries are ok for chickens? My neighbor has a tree right near the fenceline so some of the berries fall into my yard. I noticed my chickens eating them. Just curious if that is ok for them to eat, or if I need to check the yard during the time the trees have fruit to make sure I pick up what has fallen before they get to it.

Don't worry about it, chickens can eat about anything, and lychee berries aren't poisonous. Have you noticed any runny poop from them or anything? It might mean they are eating too many berries.

Thank you. They haven't eaten that many of them... I just wasn't sure if they were ok, like most fruit, or on the no-no list, like citrus.

Wow. Do you suppose if I wore a chickens suit I could come visit your yard for an hour or two each day????

Litchi is awesome. And expensive. I have to get mine from the asian market here.

Its high in Vitamin C too. Your chickens will blossom and strut on this stuff :)
