Magpie Duck Egg

Hello Everyone,

My crested magpie duck started laying about two weeks ago and it seems to be the size of a chicken egg, I am thinking that they may get bigger over the next few weeks but I am not sure. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it!

When laying birds first begin laying, they often lay small, plentiful eggs. Hens or ducks in their second year of lay often lay slightly less eggs at a larger size.

The white one is a chicken egg. I was just comparing the sizes

Post a pic of your hen if you would please. Magpies are quite rare little lone a crested one. I don't think I've ever seen a crested one.

It might not be a magpie, I've been wanting to ask on here but I wasn't sure. I'll go get a picture of her

Yep, that's a hatchery quality Magpie.

Or a swedish. I lean towards Magpie.

Not a Magpie for sure. She looks more like an Swedish x Ancona cross to me. I've seen a lot of these crosses and most all of them look like yours.
