I have an ameraucana (Image 2), golden laced Wyandotte (image 1), and salmon faverolle (image 3). Female or male? Asking because one is more aggressive, and friend questioned another one. Ameraucana and golden laced are 3-4 weeks. Salmon is 4-5 weeks old.

It's a bit hard to tell the gender right now (if they had their neck and saddle feathers in it's easier) but I know it's exciting to guess. I would say tentatively girl, girl, boy buuuut its very early. The third pic has a pretty good size comb for the age.



These are from august and these 3 were around the 4/5wk when I posted them for gendering. Their a slower mature breed but they all turned out to be girls. I got a mixed flock of clearance TSC chicks ended up with all pullets in chickens.

The third one is a little older than the rest maybe a month old. What makes you think it’s a boy? Thanks a lot for your help. If it turns out to be a boy I will need to switch him for a female.

The males generally get combs and wattles first. It could still be a pullet, this early of sexing is harder because you can't see the neck or saddle feathers. Boys get pointy neck feathers and long thin sickle saddle feathers girls are round.

What age will neck and saddle feathers be in? i Will post pictures when that happens

8 to 10wks area but you may get them a week or two earlier or later just depends on the pace of the first big feathering. It's not far off from the peach fuzzy down coming off and being full feathers. The saddles aren't instantaneous but you'll see the comb and wattle really come in compared to the others. The wattle nubs on the salmon I'd watch. Some crow around that time too. Not all. Just like people they mature at their speed even within breeds.

I would say fist two are pullets and salmon is male. Photos of the salmon in natural lighting please?
