We purchased our Ideal 236 from a local feed store. They told us they were all hens and my daughter could just pick one. They let her reach in and hand pic her own.

This little chic is growing up nice and big one but its comb and waddle are as big as our rooster. How do I tell male from female in the white Ideal 236 birds?

Thanks in advance. I know everyone is just so wonderful when it comes to helping us newbies on the flock

Nope, it's just comb size and color relative to age, and then hackle or saddle feathers around 3+ months. Crowing is always a male indicator

This type is heavily Leghorn based, so the hens often have large combs early. It can make things tricky to sex them. A pic and the age of the bird will be what we need to help you.

X2 on donrae. Trying to sex chickens without a pic is usually like shooting in the dark. If you can get a pic up for us, we would be happy to sex your Ideal 236 for you.)

It's really strange how my pics came out I used flash and everything and still black. I'll have to try again for everyone. Thank you for the help. I'll post them as soon as I can
