We have a female pheasant. We are wanting to get a male and possibly another female. Do we have to have a certain amount of females for the male like with ducks? Or does it not matter?

A lot of people prefer the trio method. Two females to one male. Depends on what type of pheasants they are as well though.

I would have two females to one male. Seems to be the best chance for eggs to be fertile, and gives the females a break during breeding season.

I run 5 to 6 hens to 1 male. Usually a male can handle 10 hens with no problems.
Sometimes the hens will get in arguments when running that many hens together, though...depends on how big an enclosure they are inhabiting.

How big an enclosure would you recommend for 5 or 6 hens to 1 cock pheasant to cut down on the hens squabbling?
Thanks
