I just got three little week old turkey to add to my flock. I assumed they were broad breasted but I wanted to make sure. So when I got home and looked up the list of breeds the feed store had posted prior on Facebook, they listed them as Mammoth Bronze Turkey. Is there a difference and if so, what?? I planned on raising them for thanksgiving, but I am really digging their little personalities and may want to keep two around the property if they happen to have a longer lifespan than faster growing meat turkeys like the broad breasted. If I luck out and get one of each sex, I'd like them to be able to breed without outside intervention you know;) Thanks so much

Not the best picture but you can see how cute they are;)

No, mammoth and BB Bronze are essentially the same breed. Mammoth Bronze is what they used to be more commonly called, now we've shortened Broad-breasted to BB. They will still mature to weights of 35+ pounds. The heaviest turkey on record was an 81 pound bronze! Good luck with your poults.
