Marans- Pullets or Roos?

Hi there. I know it’s a little early, but I have 2 BBS marans and I think I have a hen and a roo. The one with long tail feathers has had that very early on. They are 3 weeks. I think I have a pullet and a roo. Can anyone share what they think?

In the photos, suspected hen is on the left. Also, peep one of my OE who I suspect is a hen.

Nice chicks. In about 3 weeks gender ID will be easier and more accurate.

Nothing screams cockerel yet on any. It's a bit early yet and the combs are still small and pink.

Are these BBS Copper? Or BBS Silver?

Its pretty early, but i'd say all are pullets.
Update us in a few weeks, and it'll be easy to tell.

I am not for sure. I suspect silver though based on their feathers coming in. The maran without a tail has a sizable comb and is shaped differently than the one with the feathered tail which has me wondering! Thanks so much for the comment!!

Where did they come from?
Breeder or hatchery?

I would leg band the one you suspect. (I use small zip ties), so you can follow it.

I'll be following along for fun as I have both Black Coppers and BBS Silvers.
