Made an account to be able to ask for feed and other care advice. Here are my two baby girls who are turning 3 this year. As you can see they are very clingy, it was my mom who got them in 2020 but now I care for them. I wonder if it would be safe to introduce a third? I have read online that you should have at least three but also that they can bully any new girl you try to introduce. I am very scared of my girls bullying a new girl, so is it really worth introducing a new member to our squad?
Linnea (left) is a smålandshöna, a local breed and Roxette (right) is a legbar mix. Got them from the same breeder.

Welcome to BYC. I would introduce 2, not just one.
If you raise two in a brooder inside the coop, they will already be accustomed to them by the time you release them from the brooder. This makes it so much easier.
So putting another coop inside of the same area? Like buy the new girls their own coop but have it placed close by? My girls currently are placed inside a green house but in summer I put their coop in the garden THIS is the coop https://www.granngarden.se/honshus-eco-barney-137x73x83-cm

Hello Kim, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
x2 what @janiedoe suggested. I'd get 2 or 3 more. If your setup is large enough, make about a 4-6 sq ft brooder in your coop out of 1/2" hardware cloth or a double layer of chicken wire and brood 2 or 3 chicks in the coop using a brooder plate. When the chicks are about 4 weeks old, fashion a small door in the brooder that is large enough to only permit the chicks to come and go and not the hens. Then lock the hens out of the coop, open the chick door so they can come out in the coop and explore for an hour or so. During this time teach them how to use the chick door to get back to the brooder then let the hens back in the coop and stay and observe. The chicks will integrate themselves with the hens when they are ready.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Adorable photo! 💗 The idea behind adding 2 birds is because 1 becomes a huge target and 1 bird can get bullied to death during the introduction period. So if at all possible, add 2. If this isn't possible, 1 bird will need to be watched and worked with for months by you, constant supervision, until she has been accepted by your 2 birds.

Good luck and welcome aboard!
