Can anyone recommend where I can find something like amoxicillin for my hens. We now need prescription for it and I don’t have a vet that takes hens near me. I saw jedds has something but isn’t the enfroflaxcin banned or something. Please any info on how I can get medication to help as an all around antibiotic for my hens. Thanks

What is wrong with your chickens?
I never used antibiotics and where I live you only can get antibiotics through a vet. Antibiotics weaken chickens. Its better if the chickens can get over a disease by themselves if possible, and it only helps with a bacterial infection.

Online consults with a vet are sometimes possible.

I just wanted it as a safety measure as preparation for winter. I do have a concern with one hen who is molting. She isn’t eating and her comb has slightly turned purple. No other signs but in case it gets worse I’d like to have something on hand? What antibiotic should I look at for broad spectrum and does it need rx?

Well in that case I would recommend giving your hens this because antibiotics can be very dangerous I would recommend using

You really shouldn’t use antibiotic unless your chicken has a serious infection or huge wounds.
