These birds are extremely hard to find in captivity. We have worked very diligently over the past years to build what we think is some of the best genetics in our flock. Our expertise at the moment is strictly in Merriam's and do not raise any other sub-species of turkey. You can be 100% assured that you have no cross breeding.
When I have guest out to the farm buying chickens or sheep, the Merriams catch the attention of people and we talk quite about this breed. Authentic Merriam's Wild Turkeys are clearly distinguished from the Eastern and Rio Grande by the nearly white to light buff feathers on their lower back and tail feather margins. These turkeys are primarily found in the western United States in the New Mexico and Arizona region. The beauty and statue of these birds are simply amazing!
