Heres my entrant:

Name: Lilly
Age: 6 months
Breed: AL/RSL
Lilly should win Miss Chicken 2011 because she is kind and loving. She will let you pick her up and snuggle. She is also protective of her new friend, Chicklet, whos still very young. Yesterday, she protected Chicklet from being attacked by another dominenet hen. She is also fun. She frolicks aroud, loving life. She never goes astray and behaves like a young hen should. She is also very pretty, with a cream base and beautiful brown wing feathers. She is tall and has long legs (like a model

) and a longer-than-usual tail for a hen. She is definately a beauty contender, too!

Name: Midge
Age: 7 months
Breed: Cochin (bantam)
Paragraph about why she should win: Midgey is such a sweetheart. I purchased her from a show in March and soon realized she was sick. She was put into my brooder for quarantine and we gave her some pills that the vet gave us for her. Luckily, she just had a cold. It was bad, though. She sneezed a lot. She foamed at the mouth once. She could barely even coo. But she put up with me having to stick my finger down her little throat twice a day to give her the pills. She quickly recovered (with help from her medicine) and was introduced to my six other chickens. She first met Flutter the Gold Sex-link. Flutter chased poor Midge across the yard. So then she was introduced to the two EE pullets, Aspen and Quinn. They were wary of her at first, but she eventually won her way into their skittish little hearts. She has also stuck up her courage and pushed the dominant GSL's out of the way when there was corn to be eaten, risking a serious pecking. But at the end of the day, she gets to sit on the top roost with the alpha and beta hens who like to cuddle in her fluff.
