I was changing out their food container because it has been demolished. They destroyed the lid so I was using some random trash to cover it and just it was time.

I took the feed elbow spouts out and I saw a tiny bug that may or may not have been a mite?

It was red I think? And super tiny.

I grabbed a few hens and their skin seemed clean

They all are pretty except a few have messy feathers. Are these regular molting feathers?

I’m freaking out! What do I do?!

That’s Becky lol

If you are not seeing any mites on your chickens, it may just be a red spider mite, a common mite seen on homes. But I would look on your chickens skin at night when the northern fowl poultry mite come out from hiding and get in the chickens. The common roost mite is on chickens 24/7.
