in May, I had 4 bags of Dumor layer pellets that were completely moldy. I opened the first bag a couple weeks after purchase, contacted the store, and they replaced them claiming there was a “production issue” and all their feed was bad (she learned this the day I called, so it had been an issue for at least 2 weeks’ worth of product, by that time). The replacements were fine, but I just bought more (from a different location) and they’re moldy again!! Is anyone else having an issue like this? TSC in central Texas. My feed is stored in my barn - no roof leaks or other contamination. I’m so fed up.

I actually just had to return some dumor rabbit feed yesterday because when I opened it there were cobwebs and the pellets had clumped together suspiciously. It’s definitely a dumor issue since it’s happening between different feed products.

Same problem here last month. The month before it was nearly a third of a bag of powder. This last bag about two weeks ago is just OK, still more powder than I like. I might start opening my bags at the store.

I bought a bag of game bird starter in May from TSC..

I could not see or smell mold, but I lost most the birds from that hatch to botulism. I being slow did not put it down to the feed until it was too late and the bag was nearly gone..

It is my last bag of feed from TSC ever.

I had this issue with my crumble from them. Found Moldy chunks.

Was all of this Dumor or all brands? I've been getting Purina Layena food for my birds, and the first bag seems like it was fine. But I hate to risk it! We have a small feed store nearby, but it is smelly (like bad smell, not feed smell) and dirty and I have concerns about buying there. Stuff is stored on the floor rather than on pallets. Not sure where else to go if those aren't options... :\

You said you opened the bag a few weeks after purchase. Any chance something is happening to the feed during that time period?

Have you opened/checked any of the bags the day you purchase them?

When I went back to get my replacement bags, the worker said he had just trashed all the purina chicken feed as well as Dumor, as all the bags were putting off heat(fermenting). I also had a bag of purina nature’s match sow and pig that had the same smell/mold, but only the one bag.

I actually just gave away a locking feed holder I had because it was “sweating” inside, which I attributed to the fact that I’d moved it outside. Wonder if that’s why.
