Ok so getting my hens Saturday, wondering good times to wake them up in the mornings

my current schedule is I wake up between 10-11am (I have sleep/health issues and go to school around 11-12:20 if its online or not.)
I plan to wake up a little earlier so they have more time in their run.

I also put my parrot to sleep and take my medicine around 9pm, though I usually fall asleep around midnight.

What would be a good schedule for them?

I know all the basic things and have everything ready for them but I wanna make sure im doing everything right for my sweet girls!

Hi! Chickens like to get up early when it gets light outside and go to bed when it gets a dark outside. May I suggest an automatic coop door opener. There are battery powered, hard wired and solar options available. I use a rentacoop battery powered coop door and it works great. Then I don’t have to worry about getting up too early. A few notes: always make sure the batteries are good, I check at night to make sure the door went down all the way, and disable when there is really bad weather - I’ll keep them in the coop in that case. In the end it’s up to you when they are out and about. But chickies are happy when they can get some exercise.

How big is your coop and run, in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics would help immensely here.

How many birds are you getting....and how old will are they, in weeks or months??

Before you put an auto door in, make sure your run is weather and predator proof.

Oh, and....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

I have my state in my signature, and im not sure th square feet of my coop but the suggested was 8-10 chickens but all the reviews said its ok for 6, I am getting 4 1 and a half year old hens and we have already weather/predator proofed the coop (we are planning to do more predator proofing but for the ones were most worried about we have it covered already for)

Also we plan to expand the run after they get adjusted to their new home.

Can also grab pics in a second (its a bit ugly atm as we only have a base coat of the paint down since we didnt have time to finish it, we will be finishing it while they are free ranging during the day)
