Mother's day hatch-a-long

Anyone hatching on Mother's day? I have eggs due the day after, but I will probably get a few right on mother's day.

From local store fridges, but all the farms are near by. They probably wash. I have hatched these before.

I'm just about to set some right now, due to hatch ~May 15 and all but 10 are from local roadside stands. The other 10 are barnyard mix of large breeds that I had shipped a state away.

Thanks! There were 4 dozen to choose from and I really like the darker browns so I chose the best looking ones to work with. There were only 3 green ones but one was small so I left it out. The whites and light browns were fillers, plus it's nice to be able to see what's going on inside!

I'm so jealous of your speckled browns!

I like my own hens eggs the most, but I don't have a rooster on them. The eggs I set have good colors, I have found the tan, and the blue eggs will sometimes have the blue feathered chickens.

The dark eggs have black chicks, BCM.

They are Russian Orloffs and Lavender Orpingtons

I set 12 Silverudd Blue along with 1 Araucana on 4/23 expect them around 5/14. Like I need to add to the 64 chicks we have in 4 brooders already….Yes Crazy Chicken Lady!

Here is the eggs I set. I can check them tonight but am waiting until day 10. We are trying the dry method. I really hope some of these are viable. More for my husband sake. He hatched before but not like I have so he really did not get the real experience of the pip and hatching. He would just go away and have a couple of chicks. When I see a pup I am taking the day off. I am so egg-cited
