We are not builders, so we bought this storage unit to house the 7-week old chicklets until they are ready to integrate with the Big Girls in the "real" hen house. The top slides back so we can open it and they won't overheat while we keep them confined while they grow accustomed to it. I am SO ready to get them out of the well house! We are starting a major plumbing project and the contractor needs access to it ASAP! I think the chicklets are going to love their new digs! Once they have the run of the run, they will be so happy! Sunshine, grass, bugs, sky! Hello, world! They will be beak to beak with their future flock sisters and the two roosters. This is Step One to integrate the flocks. Mike Rohr (My Crower, get it?) currently rules and his son Silverwings has no hens so I'm hoping Silver can claim some of the pullets. Then everybody will be happy!
