Got my order of 150 chicks from Mt. Healthy Hatchery on March 14th, 2025. They shipped on the 13th so they got here quick, I am in New Mexico and Mt Healthy is in Ohio. I am so far satisfied (time will tell on sexing) with my order from Mt. Healthy Hatchery. My order consisted of 100 White Leghorn Pullets and 1 Cockerel - 6 American Bresse Pullets and 1 Cockerel - 1 Ayam Cemani Cockerel. 50 Male Bonus chicks (which turned out to be RIR’s). I would order from them again even though not all arrived alive. I received 2 extra White Leghorn Pullets and one extra Bonus chick.
We did have 16 White Leghorn DOA, and a few more WL that looked very sad. It is what it is with shipping to early (will be smarter next time on shipping date) I called Mt. Healthy Hatchery and told them about the 16 and the few more that looked sad. They told me to call them the next day the 15th and we could settle up then to see if the sad ones made it. We lost 3 more so a total of nineteen and they said they would ship or refund money for 20 (I chose refund) and I was refunded for the 20. Even though everything was not perfect the hatchery cannot control USPS, and I did get the chicks in one day. Mt Healthy made it as right as they could which says a lot about the Business. Not all orders can be perfect but how they deal with it matters and they did great. I did lose a few more in the next day but they rest are growing and healthy. I hope this honest telling of my experience can help others that are looking for a good hatchery. From my experience I would order from them again.
Here is a few Pictures of the chicks at 2 weeks, some went to some other people so I have about 80 total, marks are so I can tell who is what after taking marking rubber bands off. I add 3 Production Blues from a local farm store. I think one blue is looking like a rooster. They are eating there treat food (Treat food is just their crumbles with some water with Rooster Booster Poultry Cell.
